Medjugorje – Myth or Truth?
It all began in 1981. At that time, Medjugorje was a remote valley in Herzegovina, home to a few farming families. Most of them owned farms with chickens, sheep, and cows.
One day, on June 24, 1981, six children were leading their sheep up a hill not far from the valley when, for reasons still unknown today, they fell into a trance.
Upon awakening, all six children spoke of the Marian apparition. The state, then still the Socialist State of Yugoslavia, took notice and imprisoned the children individually. With the support of the local parish priest, the children were eventually released but had to undergo a special state examination. All the children regularly fell back into a trance-like state at the same time, lasting several minutes. Each child spoke independently of the others, repeating the same phrases they had heard the Virgin Mary deliver as a message to the people.
The story unfolded. Today, Medjugorje is a world-famous pilgrimage site, not only for Catholics. More and more people want to see what this place is like. Will you?
After your four hours of free time in Medjugorje, our minibus will take you to the famous Kravice Waterfall, which, in addition to the karst landscape, offers a different perspective on the local nature.
