Žaba by Dubravko Mihanović is a multi-award-winning contemporary play that has lost none of its relevance over time. Set in a barbershop on Christmas Eve, the encounter of four men unfolds into an intense psychological drama about loneliness, trauma, and the inability to escape one’s own inner demons.

Through a tense atmosphere, lack of communication, war and post-war trauma, and a world of distorted values, Žabagradually transforms into a psychological thriller filled with unexpected twists. Confined within the barbershop, the characters are trapped not only physically, but also within their own wounds, memories, and unspoken fears.

Built almost in the classical unity of time, place, and action, the play raises universal questions:

Can we change our lives? Can we heal from trauma? Can we truly change ourselves?
